Recently I made some trends research for a project and I thought it would be nice to share it. Of course, this is my point of view, so it doesn't mean is 100% correct but is what I have observed in the past months. I would be glad to discuss with you if you have other suggestions.

    Colour Trends

    Classic Blue
An expansive presence, Classic Blue, the couleur of the year chosen by Pantone, evokes the vast and infinite evening sky opening up a world of possibilities.

    Blueberry
A thought-provoking a blue night involving air of mystery.

    Storm
Seduced by its richness in depth.

    Cuban Sand
The heat inherent in Cuban sand nourishes and comforts.

    Blanc de Blanc
Perceived as smooth, subtle and clarifying.

    Furniture Trends

About the trends in furniture, we can find lots of round shapes with materials like velvet or a curly wool texture. A big inspiration from nature using materials like cane, marble or ceramics. Also, some designs from the '50s have been remade adding a new touch changing the materials for something more modern.

Mixing both, the furniture and the colour trends, creates contemporary and minimalist spaces.

In my opinion, inspiring art movements like Art Déco and the Scandinavian style are big references in this year trends. The fact that we live in a time where protecting our planet is crucial, also has an impact on the design, because the brands will show they care about it and create collections with more natural or recycled materials.

Today I wanted to share with you some of the brands that I really appreciate in terms of being eco-friendly when talking about technology.
These past months I have been able to switch some of my devices to a more sustainable model but I am not exactly where I want to be yet, it's a difficult process and there are not many options out there so I hope this helps. Do not hesitate to share with me if you know other brands who may be interesting in this subject.

    Pelacase

This is one of my favourite brands out there, they are doing such a great job creating phone cases who are biodegradable. I recently became one of their ambassadors and I couldn't be more honoured! You can find their amazing products on their website and get some beautiful protection for your phone while being low-waste. You can use my code WMJYNR6J at checkout to get 15% off your entire purchase at Pela!

    FairPhone

The second enterprise is the first one to create a smartphone who cares about the people and the planet. Unfortunately, I got my old phone stolen but this allowed me to try out the phone everyone was talking about in this eco-friendly niche. I have been using it for about 4 months now and the experience has been positive so far :) their team is very supportive.

Their main objective it's to have a positive impact and their values prove it:

    • Creating products that last
    • Reducing e-waste
    • Choosing fairer materials
    • Putting people first

    Nimble

The last technology accessory that I want to present you is the portable chargers from Nimble, they are only available in the USA but I hope they get international shipping soon and like that have the chance to test one.
Their plastic material is made from corn! How amazing is that? The inside is made with recycled aluminium. Also, they recycle the old tech you may have at home and all their packaging is made plastic-free.

I love to see that there are enterprises out there that are trying to do better for our planet while keeping the advance in technology so the geeks like me don't get left out :)
I will keep investigating this field from a sustainable aspect to get more news and recommendations about it, so I keep you update. Meanwhile, feel free to leave in the comments if you know other brands who are taking a step towards a more eco-friendly path.

    With love,

    Sarah♡

Some months ago I decided to reduce my waste, mostly plastic, and it has been a real challenge! So for those who are interested or curious about this lifestyle, here you can find some of the swaps I had made on my bathroom.
It can sound crazy or scary at first but the truth is if you make only one of this swaps you are reducing already your consumption of plastic and you are helping the planet, no matter if is not perfect, you will be doing already a lot.

    Toothbrush

The first one is really easy to find and simple to change, the toothbrush. I bought mine at my local store, but you can find them almost everywhere, even online. At Lausanne, you can find them at Coop or Fooby, Chez mamie and other zero waste local stores as well.

    Natural toothpaste and floss

For this one you have two options, you can buy it or either make it yourself.
You can find different companies selling natural toothpaste and floss but my favourite one is from Georganics, you can find it on their website or in zero waste online stores like Ecco Verde in Swiss or Oneearthbcn in Barcelona.

    Solid shampoo & conditioner

The best swipe I had made until now is definitely changing from conventional shampoo & conditioner to the solid ones. They are made from natural ingredients, most of them are organic and even if they are a little more expensive they last more than the liquid ones.
My favourite combination is the Seanik and the Jungle from Lush, my hair is much more healthy since I start using these products.

    Plastic-free razor

My latest acquisition, the Leaf Shave, the first plastic-free razor with 3 blades and a pivoting head for easily do the curves, is the new generation of safety razors and it's amazing.
I have been using it for a month and I love it, really easy to use and I hadn’t cut myself ones, so I definitely recommend it.

    Oriculi

Is the name who was given to the eco-friendly bamboo Q-tip, basically you use it in the same way we use the cotton ones but this one you can clean it and reuse it.
I found this plastic-free product in a local store but you can also find it online at Lamazuna's website or any other zero waste online shops. Lamazuna offers many other solid and zero waste products to make an easier start to this journey.

    Reusable Makeup Remover Discs

It is so simple to quit cotton discs and change them for the reusable ones, you can find them in all forms and colours on the internet, or if you prefer you can find them in zero waste local stores.
They are really easy to use, you just need to clean them right after use and let them dry, they will be ready to use again :)
I got mines from Oneearthbcn and they are gorgeous!! For me the best ones out there because they have 2 different textures, I use the one with a towel feeling for clean my face with some warm water and it feels super good.

One earth bcn has been the first place where I bought zero waste products and you can find everything you need for a really good start along with some other great and practical things, plus the owner is the sweetest and she is doing a wonderful job, so take a look to the website and go support her if you can.

    Wood hairbrush

The last swipe may look very silly but I needed a new hairbrush and I come across wood ones on the supermarket Coop and they are certified by FSC. I have been using it for more than a year now and I am in love, really good and makes already a difference.

For ending this post I wanted to remember you that is not necessary to buy these things right away if you have plastic ones that you can still use. Ones you finish using what you already had you can start to make the change. This is a slow journey, believe me, you will struggle but take your time, be aware and make your best.

Being a student can be really overwhelming sometimes, with all the work, tension from projects with a due date and learning new things every day. I struggle with anxiety most of the time, but this night routine helps myself be calmer and have a better night of sleep after a long day. I decided to share it with you and I hope some of the things I do can help you too.

    Night infusion

After dinner, I prepare an infusion ( avoid any sort of caffeine it will not help you sleep ), I usually try to drink one specially made for sleep but chamomile or lavender, for example, will work as well.
For avoid the waste I buy the mix or the leaves in my local bulk store and I use a stainless steel tea infuser.

    Relaxing music

Back into my bedroom, I play on some relaxing music to prepare my body to sleep time. You can find one playlist who suits you on Spotify or Youtube, but here is one example for yoga & meditation.

Get ready for the next day

Next thing on the list is to check the weather for the next day and choose a comfy outfit who makes me feel confident in my skin. After that, I will check I have everything I need and prepare my bag.
Once is finished I put the bag and the outfit on my desk chair.

    Skincare

Before applying my skincare I brush my teeth with my bamboo toothbrush and my plastic-free toothpaste ( is arriving at the end so soon I will try to make my own ), I wash my face with cold water and I am ready to apply my skincare:

    • The toner water, mine is the tea tree water from lush, I have been using this product since a long time ago now, I already mentioned it on my post about my morning routine and I am very happy with the results. It comes in plastic (pet) bottle but you can return them to Lush and they will recycle them.

    • The serum, I recently purchased a Swiss made and cruelty-free serum, the Purple Moon from MellowSkincare ,  it's made from various essential oils and amethysts and I absolutely love it. Since I use it, my skin is less dry and it looks more "glowing", most of the days I will not apply makeup because I feel good only with this.
    • The Jade Roller, I use the face roller to help the serum absorb more easily to my skin and because it also helps against under-eye puffiness, dark circles and acne (all benefits right? and without plastic ♥). The best way to use it for me is when it is a little cold, it feels more relaxing in my skin, you can do this by placing it some minutes in the refrigerator before application. If you are interested in this product, I got mine also from MellowSkincare,  if you are also in Switzerland check out their products, they have a lot of interesting things for your skincare.

    Meditation

Before going to sleep I always try to relax from a stressful day and one of the best ways who works for me its meditation. Is true I struggle sometimes and meditating for too long like 20 minutes is very difficult for me but I manage to meditate for around 10 min every night (There are many apps out there made for guide you through meditation), just breath and become aware of all the stress I can accumulate and let it go.

    Sleep

Once I finish the meditation, the last step is to place my lavender sleep sachet close to my pillow, the lavender essence helps me fall to sleep faster and more relaxed. Some days a lot of light enters my bedroom and that interrupts my sleep, every time that happens I can feel I am much tenser in the morning. To avoid this situation I put on my sleep mask,  mine is made with bamboo silk and both of these products come from the sleeping set from LaAquarelle , I choose the fabric who is dyed with tea leaves just because I love tea but there is plenty of beautiful fabrics.

I have been following this night routine for a while now and every time I manage to do everything I noticed I get a better night of sleep and that I wake up more motivated, all positive things so that's why I wanted to share it with you. As you can see is really simple and it doesn't involve a lot of waste, is good for you and for the planet.  Time to go get some rest ;)

Thank you for stopping by and good night.

So big news everybody, the blog and myself are making changes for this new post and a fresh start. Why? you may wonder. Well, because I become more aware of how us humans we make so much damage to this planet and we only have one so from now on I will do my best to try to protect it and I will post about my journey for share with you my personal experience and tips.

EN - For this new post, I wanted to share with you this amazing campaign Lush made with the Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS). Every time they sell a soap or a shampoo bar made for the campaign the money goes to the association. Then they use the money to protect and restore the forests of Palm oil where the orangutan lives, like this they avoid that other companies destroy this forests and with it the 14'600 left in our world.
Last year thanks to everyone who helped raise the money SOS achieved to buy a 50-hectare plot of palm plantation and they returned it to a rainforest. So this year the idea is to accomplish the same, right now they already sell all of the Orangutan soaps (by the way they smell amazing and they are super cute. no? ) but you can still buy their shampoo bar in their website.
So if you want to know more about this campaign click here.

The other good news is that I will start to write posts in three different languages, English, Spanish and French. Let me know what you think about this idea.

Thank you for reading and caring. Share with me your opinion if you get one of this lush products.

    With love,
    Sarah♡

Hi there! Finally, I'm back with the post about my first travel to London (part I & II) I couldn't be more excited about it since I love a lot of things made in England but I never had the opportunity to visit the country and what a better occasion than our anniversary of 4 years with my boyfriend.
Well let's start, is a really long post but I hope you appreciate all the pictures we take, let me know in the comments what you think about it  ^^

    Accommodation
For our stay of 3 nights, we went to the hotel Qbic, the greenest hotel in London.
They do everything as possible for being eco-friendly:
    • The mattresses come from a local company who do them handmade and with natural and organic materials.
    • They recycle different kinds of waste such as plastic, paper and glass.
    • They become partners with the mark STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! who provide them with the bathroom products for each room
    • They also have 10 bikes you can borrow while you stay in the hotel

    Day 1 - Discovering

The first day was mostly about discovering & getting lost, first, we made a stop for eating and end up trying a lot of chicken with some iced tea. After walk for hours, we arrived at the Buckingham Palace & take some cliché photos.

Day 2 - Camden town - Geekness - Natural Museum

Early the next day, we went to King Cross visit the Harry Potter store because I'm a big fan, there was a lot of people inside and outside but the decorations and the ambience were really cool.
The other part of the morning we spend it visiting Camden town, such an inspiring place!
Probably my favourite place of all.
Later, we found the real and unique, the TARDIS at Earl's Court because we wouldn't be real geeks if we didn't go visit it.
At the end of the day, we went to the Natural history museum it was full of people with kids so it was hard to walk around but we learn a lot of things about animals.
Finally we dinner at a Turkish restaurant close to the hotel, the Efes Restaurant, who has really good rates. After having been there I can tell you it was delicious & the staff was so nice, I just dream of going back next time.

The adventure continues at the next post 4 days in London (Part II )
Don't forget to tell me what you thought about the post in the comments or by other social media.

    With love,
    Mirasa💚
