8 easy swaps for a zero waste bathroom

Some months ago I decided to reduce my waste, mostly plastic, and it has been a real challenge! So for those who are interested or curious about this lifestyle, here you can find some of the swaps I had made on my bathroom.
It can sound crazy or scary at first but the truth is if you make only one of this swaps you are reducing already your consumption of plastic and you are helping the planet, no matter if is not perfect, you will be doing already a lot.

Toothbrush

The first one is really easy to find and simple to change, the toothbrush. I bought mine at my local store, but you can find them almost everywhere, even online. At Lausanne, you can find them at Coop or Fooby, Chez mamie and other zero waste local stores as well.

Natural toothpaste and floss

For this one you have two options, you can buy it or either make it yourself.
You can find different companies selling natural toothpaste and floss but my favourite one is from Georganics, you can find it on their website or in zero waste online stores like Ecco Verde in Swiss or Oneearthbcn in Barcelona.

Solid shampoo & conditioner

The best swipe I had made until now is definitely changing from conventional shampoo & conditioner to the solid ones. They are made from natural ingredients, most of them are organic and even if they are a little more expensive they last more than the liquid ones.
My favourite combination is the Seanik and the Jungle from Lush, my hair is much more healthy since I start using these products.

Plastic-free razor

My latest acquisition, the Leaf Shave, the first plastic-free razor with 3 blades and a pivoting head for easily do the curves, is the new generation of safety razors and it's amazing.
I have been using it for a month and I love it, really easy to use and I hadn’t cut myself ones, so I definitely recommend it.

Oriculi

Is the name who was given to the eco-friendly bamboo Q-tip, basically you use it in the same way we use the cotton ones but this one you can clean it and reuse it.
I found this plastic-free product in a local store but you can also find it online at Lamazuna's website or any other zero waste online shops. Lamazuna offers many other solid and zero waste products to make an easier start to this journey.

Reusable Makeup Remover Discs

It is so simple to quit cotton discs and change them for the reusable ones, you can find them in all forms and colours on the internet, or if you prefer you can find them in zero waste local stores.
They are really easy to use, you just need to clean them right after use and let them dry, they will be ready to use again :)
I got mines from Oneearthbcn and they are gorgeous!! For me the best ones out there because they have 2 different textures, I use the one with a towel feeling for clean my face with some warm water and it feels super good.

One earth bcn has been the first place where I bought zero waste products and you can find everything you need for a really good start along with some other great and practical things, plus the owner is the sweetest and she is doing a wonderful job, so take a look to the website and go support her if you can.

Wood hairbrush

The last swipe may look very silly but I needed a new hairbrush and I come across wood ones on the supermarket Coop and they are certified by FSC. I have been using it for more than a year now and I am in love, really good and makes already a difference.

For ending this post I wanted to remember you that is not necessary to buy these things right away if you have plastic ones that you can still use. Ones you finish using what you already had you can start to make the change. This is a slow journey, believe me, you will struggle but take your time, be aware and make your best.

With love,
Sarah♡
